According to CoinMeta, as reported by digital and asset, the South Korean government and the Bank of Korea plan to formulate a draft revision to the "Foreign Exchange Transactions Act" within this year, incorporating stablecoins as means of payment into regulatory frameworks. In a report submitted to the National Assembly on October 22, the Bank of Korea stated that it is negotiating with the government regarding the regulation of cross-border crypto asset transactions and is preparing to establish a monitoring mechanism for crypto assets through the foreign exchange information system. The central bank pointed out that anonymous technologies such as mixers and the lack of regulation for personal wallets increase the risk of illegal cross-border transactions. It will cooperate with relevant departments to prevent the market from exploiting regulatory gaps during the transition period of digital asset legislation to evade regulations.
