According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has listed "super intelligence" and tokenization as systemic market risks in its priorities for the 2027 fiscal year. The SEC's enforcement division mentioned "super intelligence and other advanced technologies that may affect market operations, compliance, fraud prevention, and investor protection" among eight priorities released on Thursday. This marks the SEC's intention to review the impact of these technologies on compliance procedures and fraud detection. Tokenization is also identified as a priority area for market infrastructure, with the SEC noting "risks related to the evolving market infrastructure, including reforms in treasury bond clearing and related developments." The SEC's enforcement program currently covers over 34,000 registered entities, including investment advisors, investment companies, brokerage traders, clearing institutions, and transfer agents.
