According to CoinMeta, in light of Iran's actions against U.S. personnel and the threat posed by the Houthi militia in Yemen, the United States has ordered the evacuation of some diplomatic personnel and adjusted the staffing of embassies in several Middle Eastern countries. The U.S. State Department previously stated that due to the increased risk posed by the Houthi militia, it had only ordered the departure of some diplomatic personnel from Saudi Arabia, but described reports of a larger-scale withdrawal of U.S. personnel from the Middle East as "inaccurate." The U.S. official mentioned that the threats posed by Iran and the Houthi militia are prompting the U.S. to adjust the staffing of some embassies in the region that are already in a state of "restricted operations."
