There are three major drivers behind the decline in international gold prices

According to CoinMeta, there have been significant fluctuations in international gold prices recently. On October 23rd, during the Asian trading session, spot gold prices fell below $4,000 per ounce for the first time since July, and this week international gold prices have seen a cumulative decline of over 3%. Wang Jun, the chief expert at GreenDelta Futures, analyzed that three factors have led to the recent decline in international gold prices: firstly, high oil prices, with Brent crude oil breaking through $114 per barrel, which has exacerbated inflation globally and in the United States; secondly, the expectation of a Fed interest rate hike in December has further increased, leading to higher U.S. dollar and U.S. Treasury yields, thereby reducing the attractiveness of gold; and thirdly, global liquidity tightening and deleveraging. It is expected that international gold prices will continue to face pressure in late October and early November.
