FalconX has extended its tokenized structured credit instrument to the Monad network, allowing institutional credit treasury deposits to be used as collateral for decentralized finance protocols such as Morpho.

Tokenization is the process of converting traditional credit instruments into digital tokens on the blockchain. In this case, the tool packages loans issued by FalconX's lending business into tokenized credit products, accessible through the Pareto vault vetted by M11 Credit.

Data from RWA.xyz shows that real-world assets issued on-chain have grown to over $31 billion, including US Treasury bonds, credit products, and other financial assets. Credit-related assets alone have contributed over $5 billion in distributed value across various blockchain networks.

This deployment by FalconX adds support for the use of the AA_FalconXUSDC vault token in the on-chain lending market, allowing investors to borrow with institutional credit exposure while maintaining yield-generating positions. RWA.xyz data shows that the FalconX Credit Vault currently holds approximately $127 million in distributed value.

According to an announcement seen by Cointelegraph, the system also includes automated margin control, real-time collateral monitoring, and on-chain settlement capabilities.

Nathan Cha, Marketing Director at Monad Foundation, told Cointelegraph that the greater opportunity for tokenized credit products lies in their composability in the DeFi market, which allows institutional assets to be reused in lending, trading, and other on-chain financial activities.

FalconX is a crypto prime broker and institutional lending company, while Monad is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain designed for high-performance financial applications.

Institutional lending is accelerating its on-chain implementation.

Today’s announcement reflects a broader trend of bringing traditional financial products into blockchain networks.

Maple Protocol leads the tokenized lending sector in assets under management with approximately $1.7 billion in distributed value, followed by SICOS Securities with approximately $902 million and Anemoy with approximately $476 million.

Earlier this year, Maple Finance expanded its interest-bearing syrupUSDC token to Coinbase's Base network and spearheaded a proposal to allow the asset to be used as collateral on Aave. Similar to FalconX's Credit Vault product, syrupUSDC is backed by institutional lending activity and designed for decentralized finance markets.

The push to bring financial assets onto the blockchain has extended beyond the credit market to tokenized securities and exchange infrastructure.

In March, the New York Stock Exchange signed an agreement with Securitize to support a securities platform for blockchain-based stock issuance, trading, and settlement.

In the same month, Nasdaq partnered with Kraken and tokenization company Backed to develop infrastructure for blockchain-based stocks, enabling the transfer between traditional markets and on-chain markets.
