The $2.5 billion valued AI assistant Instinct has launched a new feature: assigning users with exclusive Instinct email addresses. This way, when performing tasks, the assistant can use these independent email addresses to register for services, contact merchants, or follow up on matters, without frequently occupying the user's own inbox.
Can register and communicate on behalf of users.
Instinct founder Noah Shinn stated that this design is intended to allow agents to independently complete more steps in scenarios where an email is required, including creating accounts, managing registration information, and sending inquiries to merchants.
According to him, Instinct can use their own email to contact the restaurant to make special requests, confirm if there are available seats, or register for the online services required to complete the task. Users don't have to log in personally every time, nor do they need to submit their email addresses repeatedly.
Reduce login intervention
The focus of this update is to further automate processes that previously required manual intervention from users. Previously, Instinct had collaborated with the password management tool 1Password to support the login process for accessing users' existing accounts. With the addition of dedicated email now, the independence of the proxy in the registration and communication stages has been further enhanced.
The company also stated that the email addresses of some early users have already been reserved, and other users can retrieve their own Instinct emails through a designated page.
Allowable to forward order emails for after-sales processing.
Shinn also mentioned that users can now forward emails to Instinct so that the agent can complete subsequent tasks accordingly. For example, if a user wants Instinct to handle a return on their behalf, they can forward the order confirmation email. The agent can then contact the merchant's customer service, provide the order information, confirm whether it is a return or a exchange, and after completing the process, return a printable return label.
Throughout the process, if user confirmation is required, Instinct will initiate another inquiry; if no additional input is needed, it will continue to execute automatically.
Recently, continuous efforts have been made to enhance payment and location capabilities.
This email feature is part of a recent series of product updates by Instinct. In addition to the collaboration with 1Password, Instinct has also recently added a location-sharing function that can help users find nearby businesses and restaurants based on their current location, or plan routes and itineraries. Users can also view their location history, such as where they parked their car or the restaurants they visited last month.
In August this year, Instinct also reached a cooperation with Stripe to expand payment capabilities, enabling agents to book travel, courses, and reservation services on behalf of users and to complete purchases.
