Yi'an launches a full-life-cycle project insurance plan for the power industry, supporting traditional gas-fired power generation projects that contribute to the growth of digital infrastructure.

This new multi-risk insurance solution is aimed at utility and digital infrastructure customers, providing up to $2.5 billion in insurance coverage during the construction and operation phases.

Dublin, September 28, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- A globally leading professional services company, EY ( Aon plc NYSE : AON ), today announced the launch of its "Power Full Lifecycle Project Insurance Program" ( Power Lifecycle Program , referred to as PLP ). This is a brand-new integrated insurance solution designed to support traditional gas power generation projects, covering the entire range from the construction phase to testing, commissioning, and entry into operation.

With the accelerated growth in demand for digital infrastructure, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, reliable power generation is becoming increasingly important. PLP is designed to help institutions that make large-scale investments in power generation – whether providing off-grid power for dedicated digital infrastructure or on-grid power to meet the needs of broader electricity grids – to manage the increasing risks associated with the power assets required to satisfy the growing energy demands.

Joe Peiser, the CEO of Aon Risk Capital, stated: "As investments in energy infrastructure continue to grow, companies need risk solutions that can evolve alongside the increasingly complex power assets. Our Power Full Lifecycle Project Insurance Program provides a coordinated insurance solution that covers everything from construction, testing, and commissioning to operation. By integrating multiple forms of coverage within a single lifecycle framework, Aon's Power Full Lifecycle Project Insurance Program helps clients manage project, operational, and infrastructure risks in a more comprehensive manner."

Manage power risks throughout the entire lifecycle

Developing traditional power projects requires managing interrelated risks throughout the construction, testing, commissioning, and early operation phases, and losses or disruptions at any stage can affect the project schedule, financing commitments, and expected revenues—especially when insurance is arranged separately for each phase. The PLP lifecycle model transforms insurance from a series of disconnected coverage arrangements into a unified and coordinated risk transfer strategy that supports the project from site selection, construction, to commissioning, and ongoing operations. The result is typically better continuity of coverage, reduced coverage gaps, improved capital efficiency, and enhanced confidence among developers, owners, lenders, and investors.

The main features of PLP usually include:

  • Each project is covered by insurance for up to $2.5 billion during the construction, testing, and debugging phases, including all risks related to installation projects ( Erection All Risks ) as well as insurance for startup delays ( Delay , in , Startup ).
  • Each project can receive coverage for operational property losses and business interruption insurance of up to $2.5 billion during the initial operation period.
  • Third-party liability insurance with a maximum coverage of $100 million for the construction and operation periods (excluding projects in the United States).
  • Customers can opt for customized risk consultation and assessment to evaluate the impact of natural disasters, climate, cyber security, accidents, supply chain disruptions, and business interruptions on projects. From site selection to portfolio expansion, this service enhances corporate resilience. Additionally, risk engineering and liability insurance consulting services are also provided.

The plan is supported by a group of leading underwriters headquartered in London, combining the professional capabilities of the power industry with considerable underwriting capacity for global customers. In addition to the lead underwriters, the remaining underwriting capacity also mainly comes from the London market, supplemented by significant participation from key local and global markets, thereby providing the breadth, resilience, and coverage required to support global projects.

PLP is applicable to power infrastructure developers, private equity firms that provide financing for power project development, contractors responsible for insurance arrangements during the construction period, as well as owners of power infrastructure. It covers both grid-connected independent traditional gas power generation projects and dedicated projects that support data centers.

AIA stated that it launched this initiative at a time when the rapid expansion of data centers is driving significant investments in traditional power generation capacity, and it builds upon its existing foundation. The company has previously supported digital infrastructure customers through the "Data Center Full Lifecycle Insurance Program," which expanded its coverage to $5 billion in July 2026. These two projects together reflect AIA's lifecycle approach, aimed at helping customers build, operate, and expand critical infrastructure with greater confidence.

Will the encryption of “Uptober” reappear? Analyzing the strongest months in history
Although “Uptober” is one of the most well-known seasonal patterns in the crypto market, October 2025 reminded the market that not all Oktobers are upward trending. Bitcoin reached a record high that month, only to see a decline of about 4% later on due to new Sino-US trade disputes that triggered risk aversion and large-scale liquidations. Looking at history, from 2013 to 2025, there were 10 October months with positive returns for Bitcoin, averaging around 19%; however, October 2026 began under different circumstances, with increased inflows of ETF, short covering, and improved liquidity, which drove Bitcoin and various altcoins stronger.

After Buffett's purchase price was broken through, has Google really become cheaper? | Silicon Valley Observation
This article argues that the key to determining whether Alphabet is a good deal lies not in Berkshire Hathaway's purchase price, but rather in whether the company's annual capital expenditures of nearly $200 billion can be transformed into sustainable cloud profits and a new generation of business distribution rights. The article discusses whether Google is transitioning from a search advertising company to an AI infrastructure and action distribution platform, by considering Berkshire Hathaway's investments, Alphabet's financing and capital expenditures, Google Cloud's revenue and profit performance, as well as a case study of an entrepreneur using Gemini to accomplish real-world tasks.
