Chainlink Today, we launch CCIP 2.0, which is the next-generation version of its cross-chain interoperability protocol ( CCIP ). With this release, institutions now have a neutral interoperability layer that allows them to distribute digital assets across different blockchains, enabling real-world applications while meeting strict security, compliance, and speed requirements.

The partners and industry supporters who have joined this launch include: AllUnity, Amazon Web Services, ANZ Bank, Archax, Bottomline, Crypto Finance under Deutsche Börse Group, Fidelity International, Further Asset Management, Goldzip under Hong Kong Gold and Silver Exchange, Google Cloud, Hastra, by, Figure, Infosys, Nethermind, SBI Digital Markets, Sygnum, Taurus, SCBX, TokenX under them, as well as xStocks.

Chainlink indicates that the global finance is entering a new phase. Blockchain technology is becoming the core infrastructure of financial markets, and the regulatory developments in the United States and Europe are also providing a clearer foundation for institutions to launch commercial products. As a result, assets ranging from stocks and funds to commodities and currencies are increasingly being issued and managed on the blockchain.

However, the current on-chain markets are dispersed in a mixed environment of public and private chains. This fragmentation limits distribution, making it more difficult for institutions to transfer assets and liquidity between markets. Chainlink says that solving this problem is not simple: building connections for each chain individually is costly and time-consuming, while using infrastructure owned by competitors can lead to unnecessary dependencies. In addition, many traditional bridging solutions have had less than ideal security records, resulting in billions of dollars in losses so far. What the market needs is a neutral interoperability standard that would allow institutions to connect confidently across chains and jurisdictions, and CCIP 2.0 now fills this gap.

Chainlink indicates that the company has been providing decentralized oracle infrastructure for many years, ensuring trillions of dollars in transaction value and obtaining certifications from ISO 27001, SOC 2, and Type 2. CCIP 2.0 extends the same security foundation and credible, neutral design to cross-chain infrastructure.

Leveraging CCIP 2.0, institutions can connect to all relevant blockchains in one go and configure secure, compliant, and risk control frameworks on them; as they expand, these configurations can be continued to be used without the need to rebuild them for each new blockchain. CCIP remains independent of the institutions that use it for transactions, asset issuers, and protocols, thereby establishing trust between counterparties and bringing about continuously enhanced network effects through its adoption.

The CCIP 2.0 upgrade brings a number of new capabilities:

  • verification: Institutions can run their own cross-chain verifiers (CCV) to participate in cross-chain transactions, and a mandatory verification step is added before executing transactions at CCIP. CCV can run on the cloud platform of the institution's choice and provides preset starter kits for Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud.
  • Additional Security: Institutions can use their own or third-party enterprise service providers' CCV to add additional independent verification on top of the institutional-level infrastructure provided by CCIP, such as Infosys and Nethermind.
  • Built-in compliance features: Automatically perform KYC, AML, sanctions screening, and other requirements for each transaction to meet internal risk control and regulatory requirements.
  • Configurable speed: Institutions can choose the final confirmation speed to support nearly instant transfers, or they can maximize security by waiting for complete final confirmation and custom approval.
  • Full Lifecycle Management: Institutions can access a wider range of Chainlink platforms, utilizing credible data, system integration, privacy protocols, and agentic workflows to cover the entire transaction lifecycle.

Chainlink indicates that CCIP has already become the most value-guaranteed cross-chain solution in the industry, with the total value of cross-chain tokens exceeding 84 billion US dollars. The ecosystem, which continues to expand around the CCIP standard, includes major blockchains (Ethereum, Base, Robinhood Chain), the largest DeFi protocols (Aave, Lido, Maple), top asset issuers and custodians (AllUnity, BitGo, Coinbase, Crypto Finance, Taurus, xStocks), government agencies (Wyoming's official stablecoin FRNT), as well as major financial institutions (21X, ANZ Bank, Fidelity International, SBI Digital Markets, Swift, Sygnum), etc. This puts CCIP in a central position in the integration with traditional finance.

Chainlink Labs Chief Commercial Officer Johann Eid stated: "Institutions need a neutral standard for cross-chain transfer of digital assets. Historically, traditional bridges have lost billions of dollars due to insecure infrastructure, while self-built solutions are slow and expensive, and institutional proprietary networks also fail to gain the trust of their peers. CCIP addresses this challenge by providing shared infrastructure that has been certified by ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2. This infrastructure has already processed trillions of dollars in transaction value for the world's largest financial institutions and DeFi protocols. No other solution combines a strong security record, support for institutional risk control, verified adoption, and a credible neutrality that every institution can trust."

21X CEO and Founder Max J. Heinzle stated: "21X brings the regulated trading and settlement of tokenized securities directly onto the blockchain. As an open multi-chain platform, interoperability is key to enabling large-scale adoption of RWA by institutions. With CCIP 2.0, these institutions will gain greater control over the security and compliance of cross-chain transactions."

AllUnity CEO Alexander H ö ptner stated: "In AllUnity, we believe that stablecoins can become a key infrastructure for on-chain finance, and secure, compliant cross-chain connections are crucial to realizing this potential. By enabling institutions to transfer digital assets between different blockchains through a trusted interoperability layer, CCIP 2.0 helps to unleash broader distribution, deeper liquidity, and greater practicality for the next generation of digital financial products."

The person in charge of GTM who focuses on the capital market and fintech, Jane Ginsburg, stated: "Without verifiable and trustworthy infrastructure, institutional capital will not flow across chains on a large scale. By allowing institutions to directly deploy their own cross-chain validators on Amazon Web Services, we provide an additional layer of security on top of the Chainlink cross-chain infrastructure, and that is right within the environment they are already using."

ANZ Bank, the Executive General Manager of Payment Services, stated: "Banks need robust risk management and control in order to expand the use cases for tokenized asset settlement. Together with Chainlink, we have demonstrated secure cross-chain and cross-border settlement of tokenized assets. With the enhanced verification and approval capabilities of CCIP 2.0, we are able to expand into more networks and markets with greater confidence, control, and scalability."

Archax, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, stated: "For regulated assets, compliance requirements must follow the movement of the assets themselves and should not be limited to the blockchain they are on. Our clients' tokenized assets have already been launched on multiple blockchain networks, and the protective measures applicable to these assets—such as eligibility criteria, sanctions screening, and exposure limits—should not be confined to the boundaries of any single network. CCIP 2.0 allows issuers to define these rules once, and they will be enforced whenever the assets move to any location, which is exactly what institutions need before going large-scale onto the blockchain."

Bottomline, the head of Global Product Strategy and Innovation for Financial Messaging, stated: "The future of payments depends on seamless interoperability between traditional networks and digital asset networks. Through collaboration with Chainlink, Global Pay Connect provides financial institutions with a secure and scalable path to connect their existing payment infrastructure to emerging blockchain networks. We are helping banks unlock new payment models and accelerate the adoption of digital assets without increasing operational complexity. CCIP 2.0 offers the standards that banks need to move forward with confidence."

Philipp E, the person in charge of strategic cooperation for Crypto Finance under Deutsche Börse Group, stated: "Hosting is increasingly just a basic requirement. What we focus on now are settlement, collateral liquidity, and the capital efficiency of institutional digital assets, and this can only be achieved when it is connected to the networks that customers actually use. CCIP 2.0 has taken an important step towards such neutral, institutional-level connections, and we are delighted to support its continued expansion."

Fidelity International Digital Asset Distribution Supervisor Emma Pecenicic stated: "The tokenization market can only grow rapidly when the infrastructure that supports it expands in tandem. Chainlink Putting funds NAV onto the blockchain is an important part of our tokenization liquidity solution. CCIP Version 2.0 is expected to support a wider range of cross-chain distributions, helping to expand into new markets and new sources of liquidity."

Further Asset Management Managing Partner Faisal Al Hammadi stated: "An institution's adoption of digital assets depends on whether it has an infrastructure that can provide both connectivity and robust security measures for defense in depth." Further intends to cooperate with Chainlink to enhance the security of institutional on-chain transaction infrastructure.

Infosys Digital Assets Managing Director Bill McCahey stated: "One key theme we heard from stakeholders is that security and protection must be addressed in a way that suits the existing operations and controls. CCIP 2.0 provides an independent verification model designed to support credible interoperability between blockchain networks while meeting these requirements. We are delighted to collaborate with Chainlink to help organizations evaluate, deploy, and operate CCV infrastructure as they expand across blockchain networks."

The acting CEO, CK Ong, stated: "The next phase of tokenization is to move towards scalable market infrastructure. Our collaboration with Chainlink has progressed from demonstrating the operation of automated tokenization funds to adopting Chainlink across the entire platform, and CCIP 2.0 provides secure and compliant interoperability for connecting these assets to different markets and jurisdictions."

Sygnum The head of tokenization Fatmire Bekiri states: "Tokenization is entering the next phase – moving from issuance to broader distribution and real-world applications. Secure interoperability between blockchain networks will be a key driving factor in this transition. At Sygnum, we believe that CCIP 2.0 is a promising infrastructure layer that can support the credible and scalable distribution of tokenized assets within an increasingly interconnected digital asset ecosystem."

Taurus, co-founder and managing partner, stated: "Chainlink CCIP is an important standard for the management and distribution of digital assets in the global market. It enables assets to move seamlessly between blockchains while maintaining institutional-level security, compliance, and operational control."

Chainlink indicates that CCIP 2.0 is now open to institutions and developers. For more detailed information, please refer to their blog.

About Chainlink

Chainlink represents that the company is an industry-standard oracle platform that brings the capital market onto the blockchain, and it is also a market leader in driving most of DeFi. The Chainlink technology stack provides necessary standards for data, interoperability, compliance, and privacy, supporting advanced blockchain use cases such as institutional tokenization of assets, lending, payments, and stablecoins. Since the invention of decentralized oracle networks, Chainlink has facilitated trillions of dollars in transaction value and now safeguards the vast majority of DeFi.

Many of the world's largest financial service institutions have also adopted the standards and infrastructure of Chainlink, including Swift, Euroclear, Mastercard, Fidelity International, UBS, S& P Dow Jones Indices, FTSE Russell, WisdomTree, ANZ, as well as top-tier protocols such as Aave, Polymarket, Lido, and Lighter. Chainlink also adopts a new fee model that converts off-chain and on-chain revenues generated by enterprises into LINK tokens, which are then deposited into a strategic Chainlink Reserve.
