On Monday, Meta announced the launch of “Meta Enterprise Platform”, a new initiative aimed at expanding the company’s AI products to corporate and commercial customers. At the same time, this social media giant hired Chirantan, the CEO of database software company MongoDB, to lead this new project.
The launch of this new service is built upon the momentum of Muse. Muse is a personal AI assistant that was introduced by Meta earlier this month, capable of performing tasks for users such as sending emails and booking trips.
Meta indicates that the company will focus on providing a complete technology stack to enterprises and developers, which includes Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, Muse Code, and so on.
In a statement, Desai stated: "In the coming years, AI will fundamentally redefine how organizations of all sizes innovate, grow, serve customers, and operate their businesses. Meta is unique because it combines advanced models and leading agents with mature experience that has helped millions of advertisers and hundreds of millions of enterprises expand. Meta Enterprise Platform will focus on transforming its AI technology stack into products and services that enterprises can deploy for their own businesses."
Meta indicates that this measure may help the company to recoup the substantial funds it has invested in AI.
MongoDB's stock price fell by more than 17% after news of its CEO's sudden resignation broke. The database company stated that it has appointed Dev Ittycheria as the interim CEO; Ittycheria previously held this position, and the board of directors is currently searching for a permanent successor to Desai.
