IT News on September 29th: According to "Daily Economic News," Geely Smart Charging C12 was launched simultaneously in five cities today: Hangzhou, Shanghai, Ningbo, Jiaxing, and Xi'an. Each charging station has a peak power of 2.2 megawatts, and the average time to charge from 10% to 97% of the battery capacity is 8 minutes and 40 seconds.
Geely claims that its AI intelligent charging “charge while maintaining” technology can control battery temperature during the fast charging process, ensuring that the maximum charging temperature never exceeds 65°C, and increasing the battery’s cycle life by more than 20%.

On the evening of September 23, Geely Automobile Group announced the "Geely Smart Charging" technology in Ningbo Qianwan New Area. This technology relies on the all-domain energy large model "Starwise PowerMind Energy Brain" jointly developed by Geely and Jieyue Xingchen. Geely launched three major functions: AI Extreme Fast Charging, AI Smart Charging, and AI Automatic Charging.
According to the introduction, the peak charging power of the fifth-generation Geely Smart Charging Station is 2250 kilowatts. Geely states that its charging piles have a peak voltage of 1500V and a peak current of 1500A, allowing for megawatt-level output when two piles are used simultaneously.

In terms of mass-produced models, Lynk & Co 10 and Krypton 001 are equipped with 900V Shield Golden Brick ultra-short knife batteries, with a maximum charging rate of 12C. At room temperature, it takes an average of 4 minutes and 30 seconds to charge from 10% to 70%, and an average of 8 minutes and 40 seconds to charge from 10% to 97%.
Geely has also launched the Shield Golden Brick Battery Ultra-Short Knife series in a 370-millimeter version, with a peak charging rate of 6C. The first batch is equipped with the new Geely Galaxy E5 (Note from IT: Limited-time offer starting from 97,800 yuan upon market release), and the charging time for 10% to 70% of the battery capacity is approximately 8 minutes and 25 seconds.
Regarding fast charging temperature control, Geely claims that the AI temperature rise prediction algorithm can anticipate changes in the battery's internal temperature 30 seconds in advance, dynamically allocating charging power to ensure that the average battery temperature does not exceed 55°C.
According to actual test data from China Automotive Technology and Research Center, during the process of charging the Lynk & Co. 10 equipped with this technology from 10% to 97%, the peak charging power reached 1093 kilowatts. For 57% of the charging time, the battery temperature remained below 55°C, and the highest temperature throughout the charging process was 64°C. Combined with Geely's "Thousand Vehicles, Thousand Strategies" battery health management plan and lithium-ion pulse repair technology, Geely claims that the battery's cycle life can be increased by more than 20%.
In terms of charging robots, Geely showcased a 20-kilowatt home charging robot, a 7-kilowatt automatic bottom charging robot, and a 1.5-megawatt ultra-fast charging robot, covering both home and public station scenarios.
In terms of user rights and interests, from now until January 1, 2028, the first users of all newly launched vehicles equipped with Geely's intelligent charging technology will be able to enjoy a charging experience benefit of 1,000 yuan per year for two consecutive years, totaling 2,000 yuan. Geely will also upgrade the battery warranty period for both new and existing user models from 8 years and 150,000 kilometers to 8 years and 200,000 kilometers.
In terms of infrastructure, Geely plans to build over 22,000 charging stations and more than 100,000 charging guns by the end of 2027, including over 15,000 smart charging stations and over 50,000 smart charging guns, taking the lead in achieving coverage in every county across the country. In its long-term plan, Geely aims to set up over 150,000 charging stations and over 600,000 charging guns, capable of serving over 12 million vehicles daily.
