Mountain View, California, USA, September 29th / PRNewswire / -- Cyngn (Nasdaq ticker: CYN) announced today that a customer from one of the Fortune 100 heavy equipment manufacturers has placed an additional order for its DriveMod Tugger. This new deployment will support a new material handling application in the customer's heavy equipment manufacturing plant and further expand the existing partnership between the two parties.
Cyngn CEO Lior Tal stated: "For large manufacturers, the costs associated with repetitive material handling are not just limited to the labor required for the transportation. Parts must be delivered to the required locations at the required times without interfering with production. Automating these handling processes helps factories reduce logistics costs, improve material flow, and allows employees to focus their energy on other responsibilities."
This expansion is built upon the manufacturer's previous adoption of Cyngn autonomous vehicle technology. The new application will support the transportation of parts to heavy equipment assembly lines, extending automation to another aspect of the customer's manufacturing operations.
This additional order also demonstrates how initial deployments can create opportunities for broader adoption. Once manufacturers introduce autonomous vehicles into their operations, they can leverage the experience, infrastructure, and operational knowledge accumulated from previous deployments to evaluate more use cases.
This approach is at the core of Cyngn's business strategy: to help manufacturers find a practical starting point for automation, to demonstrate its value, and to expand it to more workflows and factories as needs change.
DriveMod Tugger is suitable for repetitive material transportation in industrial environments, with a towing capacity of up to 12,000 pounds. Its automatic navigation technology allows manufacturers to automate the process without the need to install fixed guidance infrastructure such as tapes or wires along the appropriate routes.
Cyngn indicates that, for competitive reasons, the company will not disclose the name of this manufacturer for the time being, as there is a risk of revealing commercially sensitive information such as the manufacturer's operational efficiency and automation strategies.
