Hikvision announces the launch of Hik-Connect 7, which represents a major upgrade to its cloud-based security software. It includes the new AI engine and is equipped with a redesigned user interface.
As small businesses, households, and corporate teams connect more devices, cameras, and access control points to the same account, people have always had to adapt to security software. The information needed to answer a question usually already exists somewhere within the system; it just takes time, experience, and manual effort to find it.
Hikvision Hik-Connect Product Manager Eunice Yu stated: " HIKO has changed this. Instead of making people learn how to operate the system, we let HIKO understand what people need and find the answers on their own." Since HIKO runs in the cloud, this change will be directly applied to existing Team Mode and Personal Mode users through software updates, without the need to purchase or install any separate HIKO hardware.
Three AI upgrades for daily security work
Hik-Connect Centered around three key upgrades: AI Guardian, AI Search, and AI Assistant. Security teams and operators need to quickly be aware of and respond to incidents, identify the correct targets, and understand the issues at hand, while ensuring that devices, personnel, and vehicles operate smoothly. With the integration of monitoring, search, investigation, and deterrence functions in HIKO, the software no longer merely records incidents; it begins to understand, analyze, and proactively respond to them. These three upgrades together constitute a security experience driven by AI.
- AI Guardian Help users understand what is happening and respond quickly.
- Focus allows users to focus on what's important without having to wait for alerts. Security teams can add known vehicles as targets, set times and locations, and then hand them over to HIKO for processing. The system will correlate footage from multiple cameras when the vehicle appears, establish an orderly timeline, and generate a summary.
- The `AI Notification` rule replaces the fixed list of alarm types. Users can describe what they want to be notified of in natural language, such as "notify me if someone falls and doesn't get up again." `HIKO` will then apply this rule in subsequent occurrences, marking and summarizing matching events as they happen.
- AI Deterrence Gradually escalates through tiered responses, from standard warnings to naming specific individuals or vehicles involved, and describes their appearance and location.
- AI Summary compiles a daily overview of personnel, vehicles, and alarms from a certain camera channel over the past 24 hours, allowing managers to understand the day's activities in just a few minutes, without having to piece together information from scattered logs and videos one by one.
AI Search Helps users find the correct target and understand what has happened.
- Video Q &A allows for direct answers to questions regarding a particular scenario, so employees can ask questions immediately without having to search through hours of recorded footage back and forth.
- Fusion Search integrates video, access control, and license plate information, allowing people to understand someone's whereabouts more comprehensively without having to retrieve records from three separate systems.
AI Assistant Helps users ensure the smooth operation of devices, personnel, and vehicles.
Users only need to issue a single command in natural language—for example, to set visitor permissions for a specific vehicle—and HIKO will execute the relevant setup steps that would otherwise require manual configuration item by item.
Global launch for all Hik-Connect users
Hik-Connect is currently pushing updates globally to users Team Mode and Personal Mode. This update applies to the existing Hik-Connect applications and portals, as well as devices that are already connected to this platform.
