News from the IT family on September 30: Foton Motor released its "15th Five-Year" strategic development plan on September 29, setting a core strategic goal of achieving 1 million vehicle sales by 2030.

In terms of internationalization, Foton Motor stated that from January to August 2026, its overseas sales reached nearly 150,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 44.3%; as of now, the company's cumulative total overseas sales have exceeded 1.39 million units, with its products and services covering more than 140 countries and regions around the world. Its export sales have ranked first in China's commercial vehicle industry for 15 consecutive years.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Foton Automobile will continue to advance the upgrading of its internationalization strategy, making a comprehensive transition from traditional "exporting products" to "exporting systems, intelligent manufacturing, and brands." It will make every effort to achieve the strategic goal of selling 400,000 vehicles overseas by 2030, with these exports accounting for 40% of total sales.
Foton Motor will rely on its self-developed Aiyike three-electric technology platform to tackle key areas such as batteries, electric drives, electronic controls, and hydrogen fuel core components. It plans to establish a dedicated industrial base for new energy components, aiming to increase the self-production rate of core modules such as batteries, electric drive bridges, and vehicle controllers. This strategy is aimed at achieving a sales target of 500,000 new energy vehicles by 2030, with new energy vehicles accounting for 50% of total sales.

In the field of intelligent driving, Foton Automobile will continue to advance the full-stack independent research and development of L2-L3 level intelligent driving algorithms, achieving large-scale installation of functions such as high-speed navigation, intelligent obstacle avoidance, and adaptive cruise control, comprehensively covering core commercial scenarios such as long-distance trunk logistics and urban delivery.
At the same time, in enclosed and restricted scenarios such as port docks, mining area parks, and end-logistics networks, the company will continue to make breakthroughs in L4 level advanced autonomous driving technology. It will iteratively optimize solutions for unmanned towing, unmanned sanitation, unmanned delivery, intelligent buses, and other unmanned equipment, and continuously expand the scope of commercial demonstration operations. The goal is to achieve full commercialization of L4 level intelligent driving technology by 2030.
At the intelligent cockpit level, Foton Motor will continue to upgrade the new generation of highly integrated electronic and electrical architectures, optimizing core functions such as human-machine interaction, intelligent connectivity, remote control, and intelligent diagnostics, to support the rapid iteration and personalized customization of the vehicle's functions OTA.
