Robinhood announced several new products at the HOOD summit

On Tuesday evening, at the Houston Summit, the largest number of new products in recent years were announced. These include encrypted perpetual futures, weekend stock trading, tradable AI agents, corporate performance contracts, longer option trading hours, and more in-trading margin arrangements. All of these are aimed at one type of user: active traders.

  • Sustainable contracts are targeted at American customers. Bitcoin and Ethereum contracts offer a maximum leverage of 10 times, while other assets start at 3 times leverage. This is provided through Robinhood Derivatives and Bitstamp, rather than Lighter. The head of US futures products at Robinhood stated that traders wish to use leverage, but the company has chosen to start with smaller cryptocurrencies in a more cautious manner.
  • Weekend stock trading. Robinhood launched 24/7 trading in 2023, but trading is still suspended on weekends. Now, some stocks and ETF will be available for trading 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays, through an alternative trading platform called Bruce ATS. This means that the last time difference between stocks and cryptocurrencies has been eliminated.
  • AI agent that can trade on your behalf. Users can create an agent within the application, select a model from OpenAI or Anthropic, and assign an independent trading account to it for market research and transaction execution. A feature named Loops allows users to set up recurring orders, enabling the agent to act automatically when certain conditions are met. Earlier this year, after Robinhood opened its system to external AI, there were already over 150,000 agent accounts in existence.
  • Performance contract. Through Cboe, users will be able to trade on whether a company meets certain targets—such as revenue, earnings per share, or in the case of Apple, iPhone sales volume.
  • Social trading apps. Robinhood announces that its Robinhood Social application has been launched within the main app, joining the ranks of Fomo and Pump, entering the hottest new niche in on-chain transactions.

Robinhood The vice president of products described his goal as: selling stocks, buying cryptocurrencies, selling cryptocurrencies within the same account, and trading in predicted markets, without having to worry about which market one is currently in. This is what is known as the definition of a "super app."

Next, it's a matter of which of these products will become the breakthrough for Robinhood.
