A new storybook experience driven by AI, aimed at teaching children how to read analog clocks and helping families rebuild their time perception skills.

Shelton, Connecticut, USA, September 30th / PRNewswire / -- Pioneer in the tabling industry ® Today announces the launch of Timex Tales, an interactive storytelling experience that utilizes Google Gemini to help parents and teachers guide children in learning how to read traditional analog clocks. In a world where many children rely on digital devices to tell time, Timex brings the experience of analog time back into life through one story after another.

Timex indicates that Timex Tales combines imaginative storytelling with hands-on learning tools, making it easier and more fun for children aged 5 to 10 to learn how to read time. According to a latest survey conducted on behalf of Timex, two-fifths of children aged 6 to 9 have difficulty reading analog clocks confidently, highlighting the growing gap in basic time recognition skills.

Timex Tales is designed to help children learn the following content:

  • Understand the hour hand and minute hand, and confidently read the time.
  • Distinguish between morning and afternoon
  • Link the concept of time with the daily rhythm of morning, afternoon, and evening.

Through personalized adventures generated by Nano Banana, children will join a group of lively characters such as tigers, dolphins, penguins, dogs, and hexagonal dinosaurs. Together, they will explore imaginative worlds like castles, cities, and outer space, guiding the children through different moments of the day as time passes. At the end of each experience, a downloadable Analog Adventure Toolkit is provided, which includes a printable watch and a clock with an interactive pointer to help families continue practicing telling time together.

Timex, the Group's Chief Marketing Officer, Shari Fabiani stated: "As digital screens increasingly shape the way children spend their time, Timex Tales is our way of bringing a pointer-based lifestyle back into everyday moments. By combining imaginative stories, hands-on learning, and purposeful technology, we are helping families and classrooms make learning to read both easy and fun."

Timex Tales is supported by Gemini and built upon Google Cloud Run. It utilizes scalable and high-performance infrastructure to provide a seamless, real-time personalized experience based on family inputs. This technology allows every child to become the protagonist of their own learning adventures at their own time, while maintaining a safe and family-centered experience.

Google Cloud, Director of Global Retail Strategy and Solutions, and Paul Tepfenhart stated: "We are very pleased to collaborate with Timex to launch such an experience that demonstrates how generative AI can support family learning in a safe, intuitive, and meaningful way. With the help of Google Gemini, Timex Tales helps children acquire an important life skill, which is also a powerful example of how technology can enhance rather than replace the most traditional methods."

Timex indicates that Timex Tales has reimagined the way family and time are connected, providing an unforgettable and modern way to build lasting confidence in pointer-based reading for the next generation.

Timex Tales is now live on timextales.timex.com.
