Famous for founding the cybersecurity startup Mandiant, which was sold to Google for $5.4 billion in 2022, Kevin Mandia has now raised $255.5 million for his latest venture, Armadin. The company announced on Thursday that this round of financing has valued Armadin at over $2.5 billion.
This round of Series B financing was led by Andreessen Horowitz and Accel, with participation from Bain Capital Ventures, Redpoint, 8VC, Ballistic Ventures, Google Ventures, In-Q-Tel, Kleiner Perkins, and Menlo Ventures.
It has only been six months since Armadin completed a $190 million Series A financing in March, and now this new round of financing has taken place. To date, the company has raised a total of over $445 million.
Armadin is providing enterprises with a new, round-the-clock security protection approach, reimagining the defense testing of the AI era. Unlike traditional penetration testing, where hired security professionals attempt to infiltrate and report discovered vulnerabilities, Armadin operates a continuous, online agentic. These swarms methods link multiple vulnerabilities to carry out an attack. The idea is to help organizations detect and block vulnerabilities before any mischievous individuals, or even those in AI laboratories with uncontrolled agents, can launch attacks using agentic technology.
