Trondheim, Norway, and Madrid, October 5 (Reuters/ PR Newswire ) – Kongsberg Satellite Services ( KSAT ) and Xoople have reached a cooperation agreement. Xoople has chosen KSATlite’s fully automated “Ground Segment as a Service” to support the deployment and operation of its pioneering satellite constellation.

KSATlite was launched in 2016 with the aim of providing standardized and scalable ground access services for satellite operators. Ten years later, this service supports a variety of missions ranging from a single satellite to large constellations, with an average communication success rate of over 99.8%. Xoople is building the "Earth System Record" (© Earth's System of Record ™), which is a continuously updated representation of global physical changes.

By combining credible Earth data, scalable cloud infrastructure, and advanced AI, the end-to-end system of Xoople provides a foundation for organizations to understand, monitor, and respond to changes in both natural and built environments. This platform is designed to seamlessly integrate with government and corporate systems, work processes, and AI applications, transforming complex geospatial data into operational intelligence on a global scale.

Through this collaboration, Xoople will utilize KSATlite's global network, including new sites, to support the downlink transmission of large amounts of Earth observation data and to achieve rapid delivery of information from space to ground users.

The cooperation between the two parties will also promote the continuous development of KSATlite services. To meet the needs of the Xoople project, KSAT is adding new ground stations and is jointly developing two key capabilities with Xoople: one is to transfer data from ground stations to the cloud more quickly, and the other is to provide new server endpoints to enable operators to further automate their operations. These capabilities will become part of the KSATlite standard services and will benefit customers throughout the network in the future.

KSAT, President and CEO, Marte Indregard stated: "Through our collaboration, Xoople has put forward ambitious requirements to us, which continue to drive the development of KSATlite, including faster data transmission and stronger automation capabilities. Since KSATlite is a standardized service, these enhanced features will strengthen the products that all network customers will be able to access in the future. We look forward to continuing this cooperation as the project progresses."

Xoople CEO Fabrizio Pirondini stated: "Reliable and scalable access to Earth data is a key component in building the infrastructure for 'Earth System Records.' By collaborating with KSAT and its global KSATlite network, we are strengthening our data supply chain, enabling us to continuously capture, process, and understand the physical changes on Earth. This collaboration helps to ensure that we can support the required scale, frequency, and reliability in delivering credible information into business processes and AI-driven decision-making."

Both parties stated that this collaboration is of significant milestone importance for both companies, combining Xoople's ambition to build a 'Earth System Record' with KSAT's professional capabilities in global ground segments. Together, they will help establish the infrastructure necessary to transform Earth data into credible corporate assets, providing support for global operational intelligence, automation, and AI-driven decision-making. For KSAT, this partnership expands the coverage and capabilities of the KSATlite network, enhancing its ability to support high-capacity Earth observation missions in the coming years.

About Xoople

Xoople is building the "Earth System Record" – the largest daily source of real-world physical data at the ground level, designed for the AI era and continuously updated. Relying on a proprietary constellation equipped with NASA level optical sensors and a fully integrated space-to-cloud network, Xoople generates data volumes that are 100 times that of the current gold standard. The company converts calibrated global geodetic data into structured, machine-readable, and open tabular formats that can be directly integrated into AI agents, business workflows, and operational platforms. Xoople, developed in collaboration with users from various industries, aims to bridge the knowledge gap in the physical world that limits AI performance, enabling organizations to detect changes, extract predictive insights, and make decisions more quickly and confidently on a global scale.
