Cognizant selected by SITA, advancing the global cloud-based financial transformation driven by AI
Cognizant has been selected by SITA – a globally leading expert in aviation transportation technology – as the implementation and transformation partner for their SKY project. This project, led by the finance department and covering the entire company, aims to assist SITA in deploying a modern cloud platform for financial, procurement, and supply chain processes. The company states that this platform is designed to bring measurable commercial value to SITA's global operations, which extend across more than 200 countries and regions.
According to Cognizant, the goal of this transformation is to elevate the financial function from mere reporting and operational processing to a more strategic, growth-oriented business partner. Cognizant will work together with SITA to implement a cloud-based ERP and management platform for planning, performance, project management, and procurement. By connecting these functions through a shared data foundation, unified working methods, and insights driven by AI, SITA aims to strengthen planning capabilities, identify opportunities earlier, and better align resources with their growth priorities.
According to Cognizant, their "AI priority" approach combines financial transformation expertise with generative AI implementation agents, and the related intellectual property comes from their experience in over 800 cloud ERP projects. This method utilizes the platform's built-in AI capabilities, as well as custom agents developed with the help of Cognizant agent-based AI capabilities, to integrate intelligence into planning, forecasting, project management, and daily financial operations. Cognizant states that this will help SITA to accelerate delivery and to actually deploy AI within the operational processes of finance, procurement, and project management.
SITA Chief Financial Officer's Token Issuance las Husson states: "The SITA's SKY project is a transformation plan aimed at achieving strong business results. By standardizing core processes on Oracle Fusion Cloud and integrating AI into our way of working, we hope to create a more agile financial organization and lay a solid foundation for the next phase of growth."
Cognizant, the head of the Nordic region and senior vice president, Saket Gulati stated: "The SITA plays a key role in the global aviation industry ecosystem, and its growth requires a corporate platform that can expand alongside the companies, allowing technology and AI to serve the strategy, rather than determine it. By integrating our expertise in cloud platforms, AI capabilities, and end-to-end transformation, we are helping SITA to build a modern foundation for data and operations, integrate new ways of working, and transform technology investments into growth and measurable business value."
Cognizant, the head of the Global Market Intelligent Enterprise Platform business and senior vice president, Roshan Subudhi stated: "The enterprise platform is the backbone of how global organizations operate. The SKY project of SITA demonstrates very well what can be achieved when this backbone is rebuilt for a world where AI is at its core. By combining proxy AI capabilities with our expertise in Oracle Fusion, we are not only modernizing systems; we are also helping SITA to reshape the way finance, procurement, and supply chain teams collaborate, enabling enterprises to act more quickly and make smarter decisions in large-scale operations."
