Real-time News: Yields, oil prices, and the US dollar rise; Bitcoin falls below $83,000
The latest price trends have hardly provided any comfort to the bulls in risk assets, as yields on U.S. Treasury bonds, oil prices, and the U.S. dollar have all risen. The yield on 10-year U.S. Treasury bonds has climbed to 5.352%, while the yield on 30-year Treasury bonds has continued to set new highs, reaching 5.73%.
WTI Crude oil rose by more than 4% in the past 24 hours to $92.40 per barrel; Brent crude oil also increased by about 4% to $105 per barrel. Futures for ultra-low sulfur diesel at New York Harbor (ULSD) further rose by 4% to $4.80 per gallon, further expanding the upward trend in energy prices.
The US Dollar Index ( DXY ) strengthened to 102.4, putting further pressure on risk assets amid rising yields and renewed concerns about inflation.
Bitcoin has fallen below $83,000 to $82,965, with a decline of nearly 1% in the past 24 hours. Gold has remained above $4,100 per ounce, while silver has dropped to a new low below $59. Tech stocks are also under pressure, with NASDAQ 100 index futures falling by nearly 1%.
