The newly launched Docusign PDF Editor makes it easier to create, edit, and prepare contracts, which are all key steps in the protocol process.

San Francisco, October 8, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Docusign (Nasdaq ticker: DOCU) Today, we announce the launch of Docusign PDF Editor, a new product that brings PDF editing capabilities to Docusign and connects the document preparation process with the broader Intelligent Agreement Management ( IAM ) platform.

A contract does not begin with signing, nor does it end with signing. However, document preparation and signing often fall under different workflows. Even a minor modification may require opening another tool, editing a file, exporting a new version, and then re-uploading it before the process can continue. Docusign indicates that over 70% of Docusign eSignature requests are initiated directly within Docusign, and these requests initially start as PDF. This additional work accumulates over time.

Docusign indicates that Docusign PDF Editor simplifies this process by providing powerful PDF editing features and integrating directly with Docusign. Docusign claims that 95% of the Fortune 500 companies have already trusted its electronic signature services. This product is a new service on the Docusign IAM platform, helping businesses to create, sign, manage, and now also edit agreements in a more intelligent and coherent manner.

"You shouldn't have to switch back and forth between different tools just to prepare a contract for signing," said Graham Sheldon, Chief Product Officer of Docusign. "With Docusign PDF Editor, you can now edit PDF, send it for signing, and manage the contract afterwards. This is the latest way we've integrated the entire agreement process through Docusign IAM."

Docusign indicates that Docusign PDF Editor is a desktop application designed for teams in law, sales, procurement, human resources, and other fields. With this product, users can:

  • Create and edit PDF: Edit text and images, merge files, reorder or delete pages, mask sensitive information, add annotations, create forms, and convert file formats.
  • Directly proceed to the signing process: Once the document is ready, it can be directly sent into the Docusign signing workflow without the need for manual document upload.
  • Maintain complete audit trails: Changes made before signing will continue to be associated with the protocol history. After the document is signed, editing will be locked to maintain its integrity.
  • Post-signature management agreement: Upon completion of the signature, the agreement will be analyzed through AI within Docusign. This allows the team to quickly respond to contract-related questions, track key dates such as renewals, and identify potential risks as well as gain other insights.

Docusign indicates that all these functions can be directly used in the Docusign workflow. Docusign PDF Editor helps enterprises reduce manual handovers, simplify the management of daily documentation tasks, and minimize the likelihood of version confusion or unnecessary transfer of sensitive files between multiple tools. With the help of PDF Editor, Docusign is expanding its platform through powerful PDF editing features, combining document preparation with its existing capabilities for creation, signing, and management of agreements.

Listing Time

Docusign indicates that the Docusign PDF Editor desktop application will be available for sale to IAM and eSignature customers starting from November 2, 2026. The initial support includes English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Spanish, with plans to introduce more languages in 2027.

Although the number of corporate bankruptcies has fallen from recent highs, it remains above historical averages.
According to Cornerstone Research, there were 100 bankruptcy filings by large enterprises within the 12 months ending June 30, 2026. Although this is lower than the 117 filings in the previous 12 months, it is still 22% higher than the average of 82 filings per year from 2005 to 2025. The report indicates that high interest rates, regulatory uncertainties, changes in demand, and competitive pressures remain the main sources of difficulties.

Explainable AI startup Goodfire launches a cheaper AI monitoring solution: it doesn't just look at model outputs but reads internal signals during the model's operation. This tool is already available to Baseten customers, and Goodfire claims that in Kimi K3 tests, its cost is much lower than that of the step-by-step review AI models, and it can capture most malicious hacker sessions.
