Key Points
- Strive purchased 3,311 bitcoins, costing approximately 280 million US dollars.
- The total Bitcoin holdings of ASST have risen to 32,773 coins BTC
- The additional issuance of common shares offset the increase in exposure per share brought about by the growth in Bitcoin reserves.
Strive ( NASDAQ : ASST ) purchased another 3,311 Bitcoin coins, costing approximately 280 million US dollars. As the company accelerates its accumulation strategy, its holdings of corporate cryptocurrencies have increased to 32,773 BTC.
According to a regulatory document dated October 13th, Strive purchased these bitcoins between October 5th and October 9th at an average price of approximately $84,500 per coin, including fees and expenses.
This purchase increased its Bitcoin reserves by 11.2% within a week, but at the same time, the number of outstanding shares also increased, which raises a question: How much actual new Bitcoin exposure did a single shareholder of ASST gain?
After investing $280 million, Bitcoin reserves rose to 32,773 BTC
The latest documents submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by Strive show that its Bitcoin holdings have increased from 29,462 on October 2 to 32,773 on October 9.
This is the largest single-week increase in the company's position since merging with Semler Scientific in January. That transaction added thousands of bitcoins to the balance sheet of Strive.
During 2026, the company continued to significantly expand its reserves. In September, Strive purchased 1,375 units of BTC for approximately $109 million, at which point its holdings increased to 24,531 units of BTC.
Strive also indicates that, despite this large-scale Bitcoin acquisition, its cash and cash equivalents still increased from $284.7 million to $310.3 million during the most recent reporting period.
The company continues to hold a preferred securities position in Strategy, currently owning 505,000 shares of STRC with a value of approximately 50.3 million US dollars.
ASST Additional share issuance raises questions about the exposure per Bitcoin
The latest documents also reveal significant changes in the capital structure of Strive.
During the reporting period, the number of effectively outstanding ordinary shares increased from 100.94 million to 110.39 million, an increase of approximately 9.4 million shares, representing a growth rate of 9.4%.
Although the Bitcoin holdings increased by 11.2%, due to the expansion of share capital, the number of Bitcoins per share calculated based on effective common stock only increased by about 1.7%.
The importance of this difference lies in the fact that holding shares in companies that have Bitcoin reserves does not necessarily guarantee that shareholders will experience an equivalent increase in exposure to the growth of those companies' cryptocurrency reserves.
The tradable volume of SATA preferred shares, which is Strive, also increased by 532,094 shares to approximately 14.03 million shares, indicating that the company continues to rely on a variety of financing tools.
