Montreal, October 15th / PRNewswire / -- HPQ Sil Token Issuance n Inc. ("HPQ" or "Company") (TSX-V : HPQ) (OTCQB : HPQFF) (FRA : O08) is a technology company focused on advanced material innovation and next-generation process development. The company announced that through its HPQ Sil token issuance n and in conjunction with its HPQ ENDURA + battery project, together with French technology partner Novacium SAS ("Novacium"), it has signed a cell evaluation and non-disclosure agreement with Aptera Motors Corp. ("Aptera") (NASDAQ : SEV). Aptera is a U.S. solar mobility company listed on NASDAQ, dedicated to advancing high-efficiency transportation vehicles.
According to the agreement, Aptera will evaluate HPQ ENDURA combined with high-capacity 21700 lithium-ion cells. These cells are based on Novacium's silicon-based anode material and related cell technology. The evaluation will include laboratory tests.
This agreement marks an important step forward in HPQ's North American battery commercialization strategy, moving HPQ ENDURA + battery cells from the technology development and internal validation phases to the application-level evaluation phase.
Promote HPQ ENDURA towards commercial applications
Aptera is developing a solar-powered electric vehicle, with its design centered around ultra-high efficiency, aerodynamics, and integrated solar power generation. The company recently announced several milestones, including obtaining the EPA compliance certificate for its Launch Edition for 2026, as well as announcing a manufacturing partnership with Launch Design.
For HPQ, this evaluation provides ENDURA + battery cells with an opportunity to be tested in an application scenario that involves important engineering considerations regarding energy density and overall system efficiency.
HPQ Sil, the President and CEO of the token issuance, Bernard Tourillon stated: "This agreement is precisely the kind of progress we have been working hard to achieve around HPQ ENDURA. We have been focused on advancing our technology from advanced materials to high-performance battery cells, and finally entering the evaluation phase at the application level, where its performance can be tested in electric vehicle applications. We are delighted to begin this process and see what the results will bring."
From cell development to external evaluation
Novacium has been continuously advancing silicon-based anode materials and related battery cell technologies, with the aim of enhancing the energy storage capacity of traditional lithium-ion battery formats. HPQ holds the applicable commercial rights in North America related to Novacium technology and participates in the subsequent commercial and industrial deployment efforts for potential future applications.
Novacium SAS Chief Operating Officer Jed Kraiem stated: "Entering the evaluation with Aptera is an important next step for our battery cell technology. Our development efforts have been focused on transforming the performance of silicon-based materials into practical high-capacity battery cells. Having these battery cells evaluated will provide valuable application-level feedback, and we look forward to supporting the technical team at Aptera throughout this process."
This assessment also marks another step for HPQ in building a commercialization path for North America with HPQ ENDURA, pushing it from technology development towards application-level evaluation, as the first step in verifying applications for electric vehicles.
The initial assessment does not constitute a commercial supply commitment. If the results support further discussion, the parties may consider subsequent technical, qualification certification, and commercial steps separately.
