A cybersecurity official who has held senior positions at the U.S. Department of Defense and the National Security Agency, bringing nearly 40 years of experience in technology, cybersecurity, and strategic management. At IGEL, he will focus on promoting the development of IGEL Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform ™ ( IASEP ™) in Zero Trust, network resilience, AI, and multi-framework governance, serving government departments and key industries around the world.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, October 15, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Global software company IGEL ® today announced that it has appointed a well-known leader and architect of Zero Trust (zero trust) security methods, Randy Resnick, to join the company as the technical lead for government and critical industries.
Resnick possesses nearly 40 years of experience in technology, network security, and project leadership, having previously worked at the U.S. Department of Defense ( DoD ) and the National Security Agency ( NSA ). Before joining IGEL, he most recently served as the Director of Portfolio Management and Chief Advisor for Zero Trust at the U.S. Department of Defense, where he led the advancement, coordination, and implementation of Zero Trust within one of the largest and most complex technical environments globally.
He was the initial author of the US Department of Defense's Zero Trust strategy and helped to drive the development of the Department of Defense and National Security System's Zero Trust reference architecture, maturity model, innovation laboratories, and independent assessment methods. His work contributed to transforming Zero Trust from a theoretical concept into an executable national defense strategy. Earlier on, Resnick worked at NSA for over 34 years, holding various senior technical positions, including Zero Trust strategic leader, Director of Cybersecurity Innovation, Head of Information Security Engineering, and NSA Chief of the Red Team. For these contributions, he has received numerous honors, including the 2024 Wash100 award, and was named one of the 2024 Cybersecurity Visionaries by CyberScoop 50.
IGEL CEO Klaus Oestermann stated: " Randy is internationally recognized as a leader in the field of Zero Trust. For the customers and partners of IGEL, his role as a consultant is particularly important, as he is able to bring transformative cybersecurity concepts from strategy and architecture, project development all the way to actual implementation. The combination of technical vision, leadership, and execution capability precisely meets the needs of IGEL Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform ™'s next phase of market expansion."
Linking National Security Standards with Critical Commercial Infrastructures
Resnick has shifted from a strategic leadership position in the defense sector to a leadership role in commercial software, and this decision is seen as a strong market endorsement of the IGEL platformization path. IGEL indicates that the company is developing the IASEP ™ platform to address security issues in enterprise environments, which encompass IT, OT, cloud, applications, containers, open-source technologies, AI, and users. This platform combines the control plane, data plane, and execution plane, enabling organizations to implement security policies across different workloads, deploy trusted execution environments, and generate governance evidence.
Resnick will participate in expanding these capabilities and will promote the direct transformation of national-level frameworks into proven architectures suitable for critical commercial infrastructure and government departments, covering areas such as financial services, healthcare, transportation, energy, and public utilities. His scope of responsibilities will also extend to an international level, including NATO countries, the "Five Eyes" countries, as well as Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and the Middle East region.
Resnick indicates: "The IASEP™ platform gives us the opportunity to apply this experience more broadly and securely to the enterprise edge, integrating trust, resilience, and governance throughout IT, OT, as well as emerging workloads, and achieving this through an architecture that organizations can easily scale at their own discretion."
IGEL, the Senior Vice President and Technical Director of government agencies and key industries, John Walsh added, "I got to know Randy over the years due to his work at NSA. Later on, I continued to follow his efforts in promoting the strategic development and implementation of Zero Trust at the Department of Defense. I highly recognize his technical leadership, project discipline, and his ability to transform transformative ideas into large-scale operational capabilities."
Expand architectural capabilities through the ecosystem
IGEL indicates that Resnick will work closely with customers, as well as the company's internal product, engineering, partner, and marketing teams to transform the needs of governments and key industries into repeatable platform capabilities. This work will also be integrated with the IGEL Ready ecosystem, connecting IASEP ™ with technical partners in the areas of chip solutions, identity management, networking, SASE / SSE, cloud, virtualization, and AI. The company states that this will lead to increasingly sophisticated security and operational outcomes, covering aspects such as identity management, network segmentation, access control based on security compliance conditions, workload isolation, context-driven security policies, monitoring, resilience, and governance.
