Organizations can now embrace proxy-based AI without giving up control over their environment.
Orlando, Florida, October 20th / PRNewswire / -- The global zero-trust network security provider ThreatLocker ® today announced the launch of Zero Trust AI Control ( ZTAIC ), stating that this tool allows organizations to deploy proxy AI without relinquishing control over their own environments. ThreatLocker indicates that ZTAIC enables security teams to grant proxies only the permissions necessary to complete their tasks, while excluding everything else. This applies even if these proxies call upon other applications and processes to carry out operations.
AI Fences are intended to define how proxies should behave, but AI will still seek ways to bypass these self-imposed rules. ThreatLocker indicates that ZTAIC addresses this issue by independently controlling the operations that proxies are allowed to perform. By imposing control outside of the AI deployment, ZTAIC is able to maintain a secure boundary even when proxy behavior is abnormal.
ThreatLocker, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, stated: "Security challenges have fundamentally changed, as AI agents are no longer just providing information. They are being used to perform operations within organizational environments." He added, "Organizations around the world need a way to adopt AI while ensuring that they do not hand over the control of their own environments."
ThreatLocker indicates that ZTAIC helps to reduce the extensive workload required for protecting AI through recommended strategies, which can be put into use directly. Security teams can start with the preset safeguards, make adjustments according to their own environments, and quickly establish solid boundaries for the operation mode of AI proxies.
In today's deployments, a single request sent to the AI proxy can trigger operations across applications, scripts, browsers, and other services. ThreatLocker indicates that ZTAIC will maintain security boundaries throughout the entire workflow, controlling what the proxy can access, execute, and connect to, while not allowing it to bypass existing protections.
According to ThreatLocker, combined with ThreatLocker Allowlisting and Web Content Control, ZTAIC allows security teams to have control at every stage of the AI lifecycle. This includes determining which AI applications and browser-based services can access the environment, as well as what authorized AI proxies can access and execute after they are running. The company states that organizations can embrace AI in their own way and maintain dominance at every step through zero-trust controls.
