Netflix and CEO stated that the company needs to produce better dramas and movies in the United States. This statement came after the company released its financial report for the third quarter.
Co-chairman CEO Ted Sarandos said during the company's third-quarter financial report conference call on Tuesday: 'We indeed need better execution in the United States.'
Sarandos told investors that the global operations of Netflix – including in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia – are “operating well overall”.
"The U.S. market is also operating, but its growth rate is not as fast as we could have achieved, nor as fast as we would have hoped," said Sarandos.
Netflix The largest markets are the United States and Canada, which accounted for approximately 44% of the company's revenue this quarter, amounting to 5.6 billion US dollars. Following that are Europe and the Middle East, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Sarandos indicates that there have been "some very solid doubles and triples in the U.S. market this year," but he added, "Other regions are hoping that some of these works will turn into home runs so that they can spread globally."

Netflix announced last week that it would replace the content director, Bela Bajaria. Bajaria has been in charge of the company's film and television series business since 2023, and she will be replaced by former Disney and Fox executive Peter Rice.
This streaming giant is also making adjustments to the person in charge of its film business, Dan Lin. Rice will be responsible for the film business of Netflix until a new person is appointed to this position within the company.
During the financial report conference call, the co-chairperson CEO Greg Peters stated that the goal for Netflix is to elevate the content lineup “from very good to excellent.”
In addition to replacing senior management, Netflix also laid off approximately 1,000 employees, which is the largest round of layoffs since 2022.
Wall Street has always been concerned about the growing user engagement of Netflix, especially as this leading paid streaming service competes with free streaming services such as YouTube.
"There are many things to be excited about, but I know we can do even better," said Sarandos.
