At this year's TechCrunch Disrupt conference, representatives from Lovable's Luke Arno, Polsia's Ben Broca, and Theory Ventures's Tomasz Tunguz stated that although startups in the AI era are growing faster, founders should not mistake early rapid revenue for the conditions necessary for scaling up. Instead of rushing to expand sales, it is better to first find repeatable ways to acquire customers and to continuously stay close to them, understanding their needs.

The times have changed the growth rate of startups. Nowadays, some startups may achieve very high annual recurring revenues ( ARR ) at an extremely fast pace, but then they can collapse rapidly just a few months later.

At this year's TechCrunch Disrupt conference, AI, the market entry manager of the startup application development company Lovable Luke Arno, Ben Broca from the platform Polsia, as well as Tomasz Tunguz from Theory Ventures, shared with the founders some tips on how to lay a solid foundation for the company in the first 90 days.

Broca indicates that his company, Polsia, utilizes AI agents to build and operate its business, with almost no need for a human team at all (Broca claims to be the company's only employee). He says that in today's era, finding the right product-market fit is one of the most challenging things, especially when many products can be easily copied by competitors.

In this regard, Arno states that truly sustainable market entry strategies are those that can be reliably and repeatedly executed.

Arno said, "For founders or companies in the earlier stages, the most critical thing is to develop a high-density learning capability, or in other words, the ability to recognize the patterns of where customers are located. If you haven't reached that stage yet, there's no need to rush into building a top-down market entry system."

Arno indicates that this is also why, in the first 90 days after launching a commercially viable product that is already available for sale, founders should not mistake the early, rapid income as a sign that the company is ready to expand.

He said that once a startup finds an effective use case, it is only truly ready to build a sales team and drive growth once it is able to attract new customers by repeating proven methods. If every sale requires a new strategy, then the company has not actually achieved product-market fit yet.

Arno said, "If I bring in 10 new customers in 10 different ways to solve 10 different problems, then indeed, I generate revenue, but I don't have a market entry strategy that can be scaled and replicated. However, if I use similar methods to bring in 3 customers to solve similar problems, then I would have a high level of confidence and know that I can start scaling my operations."

AI, a startup in application development, Lovable, has set many early benchmarks with its growth rate. Nowadays, founders around the world are feeling the pressure to replicate such growth. Investors in the company have valued it at over $13 billion; the company claims that its ARR has exceeded $600 million; as of now, the total financing has surpassed $700 million.

Tunguz said, 'The requirements for overall execution speed are absolutely astonishing.'

However, Tunguz also indicates that growth on the order of Lovable is still an exception, despite which founders should still act quickly. He says that the pressure felt by founders is real, as the amount of capital flowing through various stages of the startup ecosystem today is much greater than when he first started investing in 2008. Now, a seed round project brought in by one of his partners can raise funds amounting to either 5 million dollars, 50 million dollars, or even 500 million dollars.

He said that winners all focus on one thing: having a thorough understanding of their customers, so as to know what factors can keep them around even after the hype subsides.

Broca said, "Community building is very important, and being close to customers is also very important." He mentioned that founders can send emails and organize events, and he personally enjoys communicating with many customers as well: "The general principle is always to maintain communication with customers."
