Regal Global Entertainment Completes Regular Loan Repricing Following Moody's Rating Upgrade
The interest rate spread has been reduced by 50 basis points to SOFR plus 400 basis points, which is expected to save approximately $9.3 million in annual cash interest expenses.
Knoxville, Tennessee, October 27, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- The world's second-largest cinema chain, Regal Global Entertainment (referred to as “Regal” or “the Company”), announced today that it has successfully completed the repricing of its $1.9 billion term loan arrangement.

This transaction reduces the interest rate spread by 50 basis points, from SOFR plus 450 basis points to SOFR plus 400 basis points, and is expected to save approximately $9.3 million in annual interest expenses. The maturity date and all other major terms remain largely unchanged. The company stated that this transaction has received strong support from the lender.
Regal indicates that over the past three years, the company has cumulatively reduced its fixed-rate loan spreads by 450 basis points, resulting in an annual savings of approximately 80 million US dollars in interest.
This price revaluation comes shortly after Moody's recently upgraded the corporate family rating of Regal from B3 to B2, and assigned a positive outlook. The company stated that the rating upgrade, combined with the strong demand from lenders, reflects the growing recognition in the credit market of the continuously improving financial condition of Regal.
Regal Global Entertainment Chief Financial Officer Thomas Song stated: "The rating upgrade given by Moody's with a positive outlook, followed by the widely supported repricing, clearly demonstrates the progress we have made. Our business is seeing strong consumer demand, and the credit market has also recognized this."
Song also states: "Since undergoing restructuring, we have reduced our borrowing costs by 450 basis points. Every dollar we save on interest can be reinvested in our cinemas, our high-end projection formats, and our customers with high returns. As we create long-term value for all stakeholders, we will continue to manage our capital structure in a disciplined manner."
