Visa claims that the stablecoin settlement scale has increased tenfold in one year, with the number of projects exceeding 225

The annual settlement scale of Visa's stablecoin has exceeded $25 billion, representing a tenfold increase from a year ago. This global payment company is expanding its blockchain business to 10 networks and 5 international regions.

  • The annual settlement scale of the stablecoin Visa has exceeded $25 billion, representing a tenfold increase from the previous year.
  • Visa currently supports 5 stablecoins and 10 blockchain networks, and has already commenced settlement services in all 5 regions.
  • The number of stablecoin-linked card products has exceeded 225, with transaction volumes increasing by over 150% year-on-year.
  • Visa Direct launches a commercial USDC pre-investment service, with Inyo Global becoming the first official partner to go live.
  • The stablecoin platform of Visa is already operating in 6 markets, with over 300 potential partners in reserve.

According to the data disclosed by Ryan McInerney, CEO of Visa, during the company's fourth fiscal quarter earnings conference call on October 27, this payment network currently supports 5 types of stablecoins for settlement. The company has also expanded its stablecoin-linked card business to over 225 projects, serving approximately 5 million cards in more than 50 countries.

These $25 billion refer to the annualized settlement operation scale calculated based on the current business pace of Visa, and not the actual total amount processed within the fiscal year 2026. The company disclosed this growth figure alongside the announcement of its new commercial stablecoin service and a record annual revenue of approximately $46 billion.

Visa Stablecoin settlement has covered 10 blockchain networks.

McInerney stated during the financial report conference call that Visa's settlement services currently cover 10 blockchain networks, which is more than twice the number supported a year ago. The company has established settlement services in all of its 5 geographical regions to serve institutions with varying needs in payment and fund management.

The settlement assets supported by Visa include USDC, USDG, EURC, PayPal USD ( PYUSD ), as well as the US dollar-backed stablecoin SBC issued by Brale. McInerney indicates that the company aims to be flexible in terms of which blockchain and which stablecoin customers should use, allowing financial institutions to choose assets according to their own operational needs.

Prior to the release of this latest data, Visa's stablecoin business had experienced a period of rapid growth. In September of this year, the company reported that its annual settlement volume had exceeded $20 billion, while in an earlier stage of blockchain expansion, this figure was around $7 billion.

Visa also continues to collaborate with financial institutions to advance blockchain-based settlements. In September this year, Lloyds Corporate Markets Jersey completed a USDC settlement transaction worth $750,000, utilizing the trading infrastructure of Archax to transfer funds to Visa within one hour.

This transaction demonstrates the ability to settle transactions outside of traditional bank business hours, including on weekends. At that time, the relevant companies were researching how stablecoins could support payments between financial institutions.

Stablecoins are associated with over 225 Visa card items.

McInerney indicates that, in addition to the growth in settlement services, the number of stablecoin-linked cards under Visa has increased by over 70% year-on-year, exceeding 225. During the same period, the transaction volume for these cards has grown by over 150%. The issuers include cryptocurrency exchanges, digital banks, digital wallets, and remittance companies.

In September this year, Visa indicated that the number of projects on this network had reached 160, with the annual growth rate of related payment transactions approaching 200% at that time. The latest data shows that the number of projects available through participation with the issuers has further increased.

Stablecoin-linked cards allow eligible customers to consume balances related to digital assets through the existing merchant network of Visa. Depending on the card issuance arrangements, service providers will convert the stablecoin holdings into the currency required for consumption on regular bank cards.

The proportion of corporate payments in such activities is also on the rise. In an update to a study dated October 1st, Visa stated that as of the current fiscal year 2026, business cards and corporate cards account for approximately 17% of the transaction volume associated with stablecoins.

The company stated that supplier payments, corporate expenditures, and fund management are business use cases of particular interest to customers.

Visa Direct Advances Stablecoin Payments to Official Commercial Use

Visa This financial report update confirms that the pre-investment in stablecoins conducted through Visa Direct has moved from pilot operation to commercial production phase. Inyo Global, a payment infrastructure provider based in the United States, has become the first official partner for this service to go live.

As reported by crypto.news in October, this product allows participating enterprises to pre-finance their international payment obligations using USDC, thereby supporting transfers outside of traditional bank business hours.

Visa initially launched this commercial service under the name of USDC, but plans to support other stablecoins in the future. McInerney indicates that as the project progresses, the company will support more assets, including Open USD ( OUSD ) which was launched on September 30th.

According to the financial report presentation materials, as of October 15th, the circulating supply of Open USD has exceeded 800 million US dollars. Visa plans to integrate this token into settlement processes and Visa Direct products by participating in the Open Standard alliance.

Visa Stablecoin Platform is currently available in the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. McInerney indicates that the service has over 300 potential partners in its reserve.

The blockchain work of Visa also includes participating in the validator roles for Tempo and Canton, as well as being invited to join the founding validator group of Arc in Circle. The company recorded over 60 stablecoin consulting projects during the fiscal year 2026, with nearly half of them occurring in the fourth fiscal quarter.
