According to a report by The New York Times citing anonymous sources, an executive from a Singaporean cloud company AI accused of illegally selling NVIDIA chips to China may also be a Chinese spy.

The report cites sources stating that this executive, named Alice Huang (or Huang Le), previously held a position at Megaspeed. She has been photographed attending several business dinners in the Singapore region alongside NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and is one of the individuals who frequently accompany Jensen Huang. The New York Times reports that U.S. intelligence agencies have been monitoring Alice Huang for about a year to further understand her connections with China.

According to sources, the US side is concerned that the relationship between Alice Huang and Jensen Huang has become too close, which may allow them to collect information regarding NVIDIA's plans, as well as details of Jensen Huang's efforts to persuade the Trump administration to allow the company to export more advanced technology to China.

However, a NVIDIA spokesperson denied this claim and stated to TechCrunch that the relationship between Jensen Huang and this executive from Megaspeed is no different from his relationships with customers in other regions.

In a statement sent via email, the spokesperson stated: "Jensen Huang's interaction with Ms. Huang was neither unusual nor surprising. Meeting with clients is part of the work at CEO; Jensen Huang communicates with thousands of client executives every year." The company also stated: "Our regional cloud clients receive ordinary business information—not NVIDIA's sensitive trade secrets—and they will never obtain any information related to national security."

The New York Times reported in 2025 that the US Department of Commerce investigated Megaspeed due to concerns that the company was helping Chinese enterprises evade AI chip export restrictions by reselling restricted chips to them. The report stated that Alice Huang was considered one of the company's senior management personnel at that time.

After Alphabet's financial report was released, its stock price tumbled, while Microsoft's performance remained relatively stable. The market believes that Microsoft's results for this quarter exceeded expectations and that the growth is sustainable; Azure saw better growth and overall revenue and profitability than anticipated. In contrast, Alphabet's search business revenue fell short of expectations, and its free cash flow was also significantly lower than expected, raising concerns about a slowdown in growth and a peak in profit margins.
