After adding payment services at Polygon, Solana Foundation President Lily Liu indicated that the "blockage and mute had been lifted." On October 29th, Solana confirmed that their network had been connected to Polygon's Open Money Stack for stablecoin payments.

  • Lily Liu forwarded Solana's payment integration announcement, with the caption 'Unblock, Unmute'.
  • The service of Polygon connects enterprises on Solana with bank deposits, wallets, asset conversion, and withdrawals.
  • As early as August, Polygon announced that it would provide routing support for Solana through Polygon Trails. This time, the latest payment function has been released.
  • Polygon's US payment business holds 37 state-level remittance licenses, as well as 11 applicable exemptions.

A post with the ID Lily Liu quoted a announcement from Solana. The announcement stated that the Solana network has been launched on Polygon's Open Money Stack, and with just one integration, users can access bank connections, wallets, and conversion services. A four-character response from Liu appears at the top of this announcement, which in turn quotes a post from Polygon regarding this launch.

In their message, Solana stated that this service connects payment infrastructure to the Solana network and claimed that companies will build products in the locations where customers are already present. The response from Liu appeared alongside this announcement, but it did not detail the specific circumstances of the previous "blockage" nor describe whether any agreement was reached between the teams of both parties.

In its announcement on October 29th, Polygon stated that this payment service allows companies to retain their product deployments on Solana, while also enabling them to complete transactions such as receiving payments, holding customer balances, transferring assets between different networks, and arranging withdrawals.

Enterprises with Solana can obtain the capability for bank deposits and withdrawals.

According to Polygon, the supported methods of deposit include bank transfers, bank cards, cash, and cryptocurrencies. Enterprises can convert fiat currency into digital assets on Solana, and they can also convert it back when customers need to withdraw money.

The supported assets listed by the company include USDC, USDT, PYUSD, SOL, and wrapped as well as SOL. It also supports routing between Solana, TRON, and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) networks. An example given in the announcement is: receiving USDC from an Ethereum wallet, and then delivering SOL to a user named Solana.

Customer funds can be stored in custodial wallets or embedded wallets, while virtual accounts are used to identify customers or businesses that receive bank transfers. Polygon indicates that its embedded Solana wallet uses the same application interface as its EVM wallet.

The announcement states that enterprises can choose to use certain services individually while retaining their existing wallets, compliance service providers, ledgers, or settlement infrastructure.

As previously reported by crypto.news, Kira is one of the companies that have adopted Solana payment integration. This fintech company serves clients including over-the-counter trading desks and import brokers, who require US dollar banking services and stablecoin transfers.

According to this report, Kira, co-founder and CEO Edrizio De La Cruz, stated that the company has already been using Solana for stablecoin transfers. He mentioned that the connection with Polygon helps to convert these transfers into US dollars in customers' bank accounts when payment due to suppliers arrives.

The report also mentioned that Solana appointed Polygon Labs's executive Jamal Raees as the General Manager of Payment Business in September, responsible for collaborating with payment companies and enterprises exploring the use of Solana for financial transactions.

According to a report citing the statements of Vibhu Norby, the Chief Product Officer of Solana Foundation, during 2026, the trading volume of stablecoins processed by the Solana network has exceeded 5 trillion US dollars.

Before this release, Polygon Trails already supported Solana.

In a announcement on August 3, Polygon stated that its Trails service has begun to route stablecoins and SOL bidirectionally between Solana and more than 20 chains compatible with EVM.

The supported assets listed at that time included SOL, wrapped, SOL, USDC, USDT, and PYUSD. Available routes included Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, and Arbitrum, as well as other networks.

Polygon describes Trails as the cross-chain routing component of Open Money Stack. The version released in August states that users can fund transactions through bank cards, Apple Pay, or their exchange balances, while enterprises only need to integrate it once. There is no need for them to maintain the bridge themselves, nor is there a requirement to pre-establish liquidity between different chains.

The same release also stated that OMS integrates deposit, withdrawal, wallet management, and settlement with cross-chain routing. Today’s announcement further details the support provided by Solana throughout the payment process, including virtual accounts, embedded wallets, and bank withdrawals.

Between these two announcements, Polygon added support for TRON on October 8th. Its TRON payment integration introduced reusable USDT deposit addresses, wallet services, as well as the ability to transfer funds to supported EVM networks.

According to reports on this announcement, enterprises can receive USDT on TRON, and deliver USDC on another supported network. Companies can also program payment instructions and arrange withdrawals through bank accounts, bank cards, or supported cash withdrawal services.

Coinme Transaction Compensation to Cover US Payments

Polygon announced on October 14th the completion of its acquisition of Coinme, stating that its payment services now cover 48 states in the United States.

Compared to the statement on the Solana launch page that it "covers licenses in 48 states," this acquisition announcement provides a more detailed breakdown: the business holds remittance licenses in 37 states, with an additional 11 exemptions in place, and has been registered as a money service business within the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network ( FinCEN ).

Previous reports on the completion of the acquisition by Coinme indicated that Tazapay, Mesh, Toku, and Kira were early customers of OMS. Their use cases include cross-border corporate payments, account capitalization, salary disbursement, and access to US dollar banking services.

Polygon The descriptions of these customers show that the functions undertaken by each integration are not the same. Tazapay In addition to connecting with local banks and SWIFT, it also uses wallet and fiat currency conversion services; whereas Mesh adds deposit channels on a platform that connects more than 300 wallets, exchanges, and financial services.

In the Coinme announcement, Polygon indicates that Toku utilizes wallet and withdrawal capabilities to serve employees who receive stablecoin salaries, and converts their income into local currency. This payroll company operates in over 100 countries, handling employment contracts, tax deductions, benefits, and local tax filings.

The same announcement states that the services provided by Kira include opening US dollar accounts at several American banks, as well as connecting to ACH, Fedwire, and FedNow. Its customers can make payments to overseas suppliers through SWIFT and convert between stablecoins and US dollars.
