The South Korean Ministry of Science and ICT stated that the South Korean government and the American chip giant AMD held a steering committee meeting in Seoul on Wednesday to discuss the artificial intelligence ( AI ) chip cooperation agreement signed by both parties earlier this year.

This meeting is a follow-up action to the memorandum of understanding signed by both parties in July. According to that memorandum, both parties agreed to cooperate in establishing the AI Research Center and in building a heterogeneous computing infrastructure that can connect various AI chips.

At the same time, AMD also held a technical event named “Advancing AI World Tour” (Promoting Global Artificial Intelligence Exhibitions) in Seoul, which was the first time such an event has been held in Seoul.

Approximately 1,300 people registered in advance for this event; Korean companies such as LG Electronics and AMD that have established a cooperative relationship in the field of computing infrastructure at AI also participated in this event.
