IT News on November 4th: JD.com announced that it has taken the lead in the industry by introducing a "per-meter charging" service for the installation of new energy vehicle charging cable systems. After consumers place their orders, JD.com engineers will conduct professional on-site surveys, calculate the costs based on the actual length of wiring required, and provide cables as needed to fit different parking spaces and distances between electricity meters, ensuring clear and transparent billing.

JD.com stated that in the past, when installing home charging piles, cable kits of fixed lengths were commonly used, with standard lengths of 10 meters, 20 meters, and 30 meters. For example, if only 15 meters of cable were actually needed for wiring, one could only purchase a 20-meter kit, and the extra cable would still have to be paid for even though it was not utilized.
The platform's newly launched "pay-per-meter" service features the option of purchasing exactly the amount of cable needed, with a minimum purchase of 0 meters. If a consumer's charging pile requires only 1 meter of cable to reach the parking spot, they can still install it and be charged accordingly, giving users more control over their choices and freeing them from the uncertainties in budgeting and resource wastage associated with fixed packages.

JD.com stated that it began to lay out the installation business for charging piles many years ago, and its service network has now covered most regions of the country. Since the launch of JD.com's 11.11 campaign this year, the number of charging pile installation orders has increased by nearly 100% year-on-year. In the future, JD.com will continue to provide new energy vehicle owners with standardized and traceable on-site construction services.
