U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he has offered the position of White House Press Secretary to UFC CEO Dana White.
This proposal emerged a few days after the defeat in the mid-term elections. In those elections, Trump's party suffered a major setback, with the Democratic Party taking control of both houses of Congress as well as several key governorships.
On Saturday, Trump wrote on Truth Social: "I am delighted to announce that the great Dana White, a violent fighter and warrior, has been appointed as the U.S. Secretary of News."
In the same post, Trump also said that he asked White to bring along some of his “assistants,” who are all mixed martial arts fighters, “although some of them are not from our country.”
"We need these people to defend us against the crazy left. Dana, please accept this job!" wrote the president.

White and the White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
This proposal emerged a few weeks ago. Katie Zakaria took over as press secretary from Caroline Levitt, but she was forced to resign just 5 days later, setting the shortest tenure on record for this position, surpassing Anthony Scaramucci’s famous 11-day brief tenure.
The friendship between Trump and White dates back to the early 2000s of the 20th century, spanning several decades. At that time, Trump was a casino mogul who provided his Taj Mahal Casino as a venue for UFC. In the 1990s, UFC was forced to leave Las Vegas due to being "too violent".
One month before the Atlantic City event hosted by Trump, the new owner of UFC appointed White as the president of the organization. White said, “No one takes us seriously. Except Donald Trump.”
Thereafter, White has consistently been a public supporter and financial backer of Trump's political campaigns. Recently, in June, Trump hosted a UFC event on the White House lawn, during which UFC contestant Josh Hawkethorne thanked the president for "having the courage to bring such a thing to fruition."
