According to CoinMeta, the South Korean National Tax Service stipulates that even if overseas virtual asset exchanges go bankrupt, individuals are still required to declare such accounts as overseas financial accounts. It is estimated that the scale of digital assets to be included in the scope of overseas financial account declarations in 2026 will reach 10.5 trillion Korean won, which is a decrease of 5.4% compared to 2025.
