According to CoinMeta, and as reported by LBC, a British Bitcoin investor successfully recovered 61 Bitcoins, worth approximately £3.3 million, after losing access to them for over 12 years. The investor, identified as Chris, invested £1,500 in Bitcoins in 2011 at an initial price of £2.94 per coin. Due to the collapse of the early British exchange Intersango, his account was frozen in 2014, preventing him from accessing these assets. Through the efforts of his lawyers, Chris regained control of his Bitcoins this year. The lawyers provided documentation proving that these assets belonged to him. The value of the Bitcoins recovered is about $4.5 million, and Chris stated that his family was very shocked upon learning of this news.
