Tensions in the Middle East escalate LME Metal prices correct

According to CoinMeta, as hostilities in the Middle East escalated, industrial metal prices corrected. A key price indicator on the London Metal Exchange (LME) soared to a record high. On Tuesday, the composite index of six base metals hit a record high, with copper and aluminum prices continuing to rise, and zinc prices breaking through $4,000 per ton for the first time since 2022. Supply-side issues played a significant role in this upward trend, but the US-Iran war still poses a risk to prices by threatening global growth. In the latest round of escalation, the US military claimed to have destroyed five Iranian oil tankers carrying crude oil after an attempt to attack a US Navy vessel in Tehran. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated that in response to the US military's strikes on Iranian oil tankers in the Persian Gulf, they had attacked two US vessels and eight oil tankers, in addition to targeting ten other illegal vessels. Brent crude oil rebounded to near $100, exacerbating concerns about inflation.
