According to CoinMeta, under the pressure of U.S. sanctions and blockades, the Iranian Central Bank has quietly relaxed foreign exchange controls in recent months, encouraging exporters to remit overseas funds back to the country through various methods, including cryptocurrencies. Sources familiar with the matter say that companies can now use USDT, BTC, and others for cross-border settlements through Iranian cryptocurrency exchanges, among which USDT is more commonly used. An executive from a company close to the government stated, "Receiving export payments in cryptocurrencies has now become completely normal." TRM Labs data shows that the scale of cryptocurrency transactions in Iran approached $10 billion in 2025. The Iranian Central Bank has not commented on this.
