According to CoinMeta, the US Department of Justice seized illegal fraud markets operated in China, freezing $52 million in cryptocurrencies in a single day, with a total frozen amount reaching $938 million. Law enforcement authorities also seized their channels and wallets holding $12 million in cryptocurrencies, and added an additional freeze on 47 related wallets. The US Treasury Department listed the organization as a major transnational criminal group and imposed sanctions. In addition, law enforcement dismantled 13 fraud centers in Madagascar, arresting nearly 400 people. Data from the Internet Crime Complaint Center shows that in 2025, cryptocurrency investment scams caused losses of $8.65 billion to victims in the United States.
