Vitalik: It is recommended to include EIP-8288 in the Ethereum upgrade to reduce transaction costs
2026-09-09 23:43:02
According to CoinMeta, Vitalik posted on the X platform suggesting that the recursive Stark memory pool proposal EIP-8288 be incorporated into the Ethereum I-Star upgrade. This scheme would allow quantum-safe signature data to be stored off-chain, reducing the fuel cost for quantum-safe private transactions from around 10 million to tens of thousands. The proposal relies on frames and recursive Stark aggregation of transactions; each node sends a packet of about 100 to 300KB of Stark per time period, with additional overhead on-chain consisting of one Stark and 96 bytes per statement to be proven.
