DoubleZero Co-founder Responds to the Impact of Kalshi Data on Retail Investors
2026-09-10 02:06:09
According to CoinMeta, co-founder Austin Federa of DoubleZero responded to whether faster election market data from Kalshi would have an adverse effect on retail investors. He stated that the data infrastructure of Kalshi is still in read-only mode and does not provide the functionality to submit or execute trades. Federa emphasized that the competition among professional traders is mainly about speed, while the competition among market makers can offer narrower bid-ask spreads and better prices to other participants. He pointed out that the data from Kalshi should be open to everyone, not limited to specific trading companies. On September 9th, DoubleZero announced that the election and political market data from Kalshi is now available through DoubleZero Edge, with services distributing a complete order book for elections via a dedicated fiber optic network, including bids, quotes, and completed trades. Although subscribers receive data faster than ordinary internet users, Federa indicated that access to this data is not restricted to any particular trading company. Users can purchase this data through DoubleZero's website, and subscription is associated with the encrypted identity and internet address of the machine receiving the data.
