According to CoinMeta, as reported by Coinpaper, it is expected that by 2030, the boom in AI will drive data center electricity demand in the United States to account for 10% of the total electricity consumption. According to Moody's estimates, U.S. data centers may require approximately $110 billion in investment to increase power capacity by 45 gigawatts, of which over 30 gigawatts could come from natural gas, which would necessitate an additional 4 billion cubic feet of natural gas supply per day. The International Energy Agency predicts that global data center electricity consumption will reach 950 terawatt-hours by 2030, nearly double the level of 2025.
