According to CoinMeta, as reported by the Financial Times, Revolut has notified 680 customers after discovering that cybercriminals were using legitimate government email accounts to obtain sensitive identity, banking, and Bitcoin-related records. The company confirmed that unauthorized third parties submitted fraudulent information requests from email accounts using legitimate government agency domain names, and Revolut treated these requests as genuine before identifying this fraudulent activity. Nearly 700 customers' data were involved in this incident, which was handed over to the scammers. Revolut described this incident as a "complex external impersonation fraud." The company stated that its systems and customer funds were not affected, and it has contacted the relevant government agencies, law enforcement departments, and financial regulatory authorities.
