CoinEx Announces Cease of Operations, Ending Nearly 9 Years of Trading History
2026-09-15 20:04:01
According to CoinMeta, CoinEx has announced that it will gradually cease operations starting September 15, 2026, bringing to an end its nearly 9-year trading history. The exchange cited reasons for the shutdown including weak crypto trading activity, declining liquidity, increased regulatory requirements, and rising compliance costs. CoinEx was established in 2017 and once offered services such as spot trading, futures, leverage, lending, staking, and automated trading. Official data indicated that it had over 10 million users covering more than 200 countries and regions. The shutdown will affect a wider range of users, who are required to close their positions, convert assets, and withdraw funds before the platform ceases operations. New user registrations have been stopped, and existing users can manage their positions according to the published shutdown plan. All non-spot services will be discontinued on September 22, spot trading will end on September 29, and withdrawal services will continue until December 22.
