FOMC Meeting Today: The Fed Expected to Raise Interest Rates by 25 Basis Points, BTC Will It Fall Further?
2026-09-16 15:33:19
According to CoinMeta, at today's Federal Reserve meeting, the market expects the Fed to raise interest rates by 25 basis points, with a current probability of 92.5%. The speech by Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Walsh may determine whether Bitcoin will face additional selling pressure. Bitcoin's current trading price has fallen below $75,000, and if the Fed indicates that it will continue to raise rates in the future, it could intensify the selling pressure in the market. This rate hike would be the Fed's first in three years. The market's expectations for future rate hikes have shifted from two adjustments to at least three. Former Vice Chair Richard Clarida warned that if a rate hike occurs next week, there could be more hikes following that.
