The Federal Reserve is about to release a statement on interest rate decisions

According to CoinMeta and reports from Wall Street Journal, the Federal Reserve will release its interest rate decision statement at 02:00 Beijing time on Thursday. Chairperson Jerome Powell will hold a press conference at 02:30. The market expects a 25-basis-point interest rate hike with a probability of over 90%, and the target range is expected to rise from 3.5%-3.75% to 3.75%-4.00%. This expectation stems from Powell's hawkish stance, August's non-farm payroll data exceeding expectations, and the core CPI showing a higher-than-expected month-over-month increase. US diesel prices broke through $6 per gallon on September 11, and WTI crude oil futures approached $107 per barrel. The yield on 10-year benchmark Treasury bonds reached 5.047%, a new high since 2007. Nick Timiraos believes that after August's CPI exceeded expectations, the probability of a Fed interest rate hike has soared, and Powell's tough stance leaves little room for retreat.
