Haseeb Qureshi: The Zcash community positions itself as an encrypted version of Bitcoin, with a long-term goal of serving as a value storage tool

According to CoinMeta, dragonfly, one of the managing partners, Haseeb Qureshi stated that the Zcash community has gradually positioned itself as an “encrypted version of Bitcoin.” The long-term goal should be to become a reliable tool for value storage and eventually reach a state of protocol freeze. However, at present, there are still tasks that need to be completed, such as Tachyon, quantum resistance, and future AI security enhancements and formalized verifications. Therefore, at this stage, it is still necessary to maintain a development fund (dev fund). Qureshi believes that as the price of ZEC has risen, the scale of the development fund has expanded to over $100 million, and with it, the complexity of governance and political risks have increased. As a result, this fund should continue to exist for some time, but it would be best if it were the last phase. After Zcash completes the remaining technical work and meets the conditions for protocol freeze, the fund should be phased out gradually, rather than continuing to seek new sources of funding. He also opposes the complete adoption of token holder voting for governance, arguing that value storage assets require higher predictability, and that a partially committee-based governance structure might be more appropriate. Qureshi revealed that he holds ZEC, and he himself is also an investor in Zodl.
