According to CoinMeta, Federal Reserve official Williams stated that there may be another interest rate hike within the year, but there is no need to rush into action. Fed member Barr pointed out that further rate hikes may be necessary in the future to control inflation. The sell-off of U.S. Treasuries continues, with the yield on 30-year Treasuries reaching a new high since 2002. The central bank lowered the interest rate on Mortgage Supplementary Loan (MSL) by 0.25 percentage points and included the construction of "six networks" in its support areas. The State Administration of Foreign Exchange reported that as of the end of June, China's banking sector had $214.43 billion in foreign financial assets and $147.26 billion in foreign liabilities. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government issued its fourth batch of digital green bonds, and the Asset Management Association of China reported that in August, the newly registered scale exceeded 130 billion yuan. Heertai plans to issue no more than 2.2 billion yuan in technology innovation exchangeable corporate bonds, while Tesla signed a $30 billion financing arrangement. With borrowing costs rising, the number of mortgage approvals in the UK dropped to a 32-month low, and investors are buying Australian bonds, betting that the interest rate hike cycle is coming to an end.
