According to CoinMeta, FedEx and UPS have announced that they will refund the tariffs to consumers, with the total amount of refunds expected to exceed $5 billion. This commitment was made after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the tariffs imposed by President Trump under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) were invalid. The CEO of UPS, Carol Tome, stated that although it is expected to take some time for the Treasury Department to distribute the refunds, once they receive them, they will immediately return them to their customers. FedEx also reiterated its commitment to refund customers and said that the process for applying for refunds has already begun. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has launched an online tariff refund platform to assist importers in applying for refunds.
