According to CoinMeta, Citadel CEO Ken Griffin announced a record donation of $3 billion to Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), of which $1 billion will be used to support its Pittsburgh campus, and the remaining $2 billion will be used to establish a new campus in Miami. This is the largest donation ever made by an individual to a higher education institution. Griffin stated that education holds great significance for him personally, as his father was the first person in his family to attend college. The new campus will organize learning around social challenges rather than academic disciplines and is expected to support over 3,500 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students.
