CoinMeta data: In September 2026, the losses caused by crypto hacking incidents reached $768 million, making it the worst month of that year. Among them, a $3.88 million Bitget hacking incident and a $3.2 million Liquid Network vulnerability accounted for the majority of the losses, although more than $2.7 million from the latter was recovered. According to PeckShield, 55 major incidents occurred in September, resulting in the theft of $766.5 million in funds, while Certik recorded 97 incidents with an estimated loss of $768.4 million. Both sources indicate that the losses were significantly higher than in August.
